Update on FPGEE Procedures

"FPGEE will be administered using a computerized format. The examination will be administered twice each year at Pearson VUE test sites throughout the continental United States. The first computerized FPGEE will be administered on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. For more information regarding the FPGEE please refer to the FPGEC Application Bulletin and the Notice of Change located in the links to the right." - www.nabp.net

The first computerized exam was administered last april 14, and from the experiences of those who had taken, the result is quite good. Basing from the statistics of those who passed versus the failures... looks like computerized system is better, has a higher passing rate than the paper form. Friends had passed the exam with flying colors.

...well well well, I might as well try it this time.

FPGEE Review materials

Here are some of the review materials for FPGEE, to which most of my successful friends have used.
The valuableness of these materials depends on the individual. One must consider the amount of time alloted for the study and the length of experience and expertise on pharmacy pratice. BUT, DILIGENCE, PERSEVERANCE , THE WILL TO SUCCEED AND BE SURE TO ABSORB THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE STUDIED.. are very important, i guess on my part I had less absorption of the facts, because I was into a difficult phase in my life then. so friends presence of mind please...

These are good resources:
- CPR
- Manan Shroff (full set- Management and Calculations)
- Dutta book
- USMLE Step One
- Lippincot Illustrated Review on Pharmacology or Katzung Pharmacology
- Any Organic Chemistry book for the basics
- Internet to clarify anything those not found textbooks and for some interactive tutorials.

Here are links you can use for downloading pharmacy e-books.

... these and more to come. Good luck friends.

FPGEE- a note from someone who failed

FPGEE ...

Are you a foreign pharmacy graduate and planning to get pharmacist license in United States of America ? Then you need to apply for FPGEC.

To be an FPGEC certified one one sit for the FPGEE first. This is an exam that hit me hard, oh dear.. really hard because sad to say I failed on my first attempt. OPPPS, you might think that I haven't prepared that much, nope, I did. Maybe, yes maybe, just to console myself, yup, i wasn't emotionally prepared for it.

I came up with this blog to help in my own simple ways, those who wants to make a go with their dreams of becoming a US Pharmacist. Yes, I have failed and have never tried to do so again, but in due time I will. Promise I will, I just need 'to scratch and scrimp" first to be able to afford it.

Later on, I will post valuable links and tips that may help you with the preparation. These I have collected through, to nursed my ego after the big disappointment on my intellectual/career life.
